SVALBARD

The archipelago of  Svalbard is in the Arctic Ocean about 800km due north of mainland Norway. 

The main island is Spitsbergen, where the small capital town of Longyearbyen is located. 

In July 2011, I spent 3 days photographing wildlife around Longyearbyen

before a 11-day boat trip around the archipelago looking for

Polar Bears and other wildlife.
