LOS MONEGROS - SPAIN - JULY 2023

The Monegros is a semi-desert area north of Zaragoza in NE Spain. A lot of the area is dry, sandy scrubland,
and the mid-summer temperature is usually around 40 degrees. In such conditions, sources of drinking
water are vital for the wildlife, and much of my photography was done from hides overlooking small
pools. A selection of images I took during my week there is in the Gallery below and, as you will
see, there was quite a variety that included various raptors (Kites, Goshawk, Hobby
& Lesser Kestrel), Owls,  Chough, Shrikes and various passerines.
